- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • 1937 P2 H10 AirFilter Is it a sealed unit Part No 27504 ???Now that I have cleaned & re-painted the Air Filter, I can see that it has "AC" and "27504" stamped onto it.My copy of "Rover 1934-38 Parts Catalogue" page 24 shows it on the diagram as '64', but doesnt list 64 on page 29.Can anyone confirm that this is/not the 'sealed' version please.P27
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Air Filter: what paint finish would be correctAnother Question:The canister has a hole at the end (see pic). If it was a removable top - then it would presumably have a screw/bolt in it.But my canister is a 'sealed' type.Should I leave it 'as is'Or cap it with something?P27

- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Air Filter: what paint finish would be correctUsually engine oil (30 or 20/50) . The idea is the same as a K & N filter, the tackiness of the oil traps particles in the filter material until it is cleaned out.SHyslop
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Air Filter: what paint finish would be correctAs a temporary fix, I filled the holes with chemical metal (more successfully than I had guessed and repainted it all..I read that in use it gets oil vapour from the engine. But how should I first fill/inject it with some oil?Would 'Duck Oil' from an aerosol can (with the thin pipe/nozzel) be any good?P27
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Rear Light needs glass. 1937 p2 h12David is absolutely right, brittle plastic, poorly moulded plus the little rivet heads the spring has to go over can be poorly formed Anyway, Lucas 1930s catalogue.
