- RSR Discussion • Re: Hand tools P2 etcDear David,I hadn't noticed this so my apologies for being late to the party. Rather than witter too much, I am enclosing some photos ( not intended to be examples of what's right or should be) but the bits I should write are :1) I only have one tray with the small box spanner in […]SHyslop
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: RewireThe subject of a loss of smoke from a Lucas wiring circuit has come up a few times on the internet. It's on a par with the three position Lucas light switch - Off, Dim and Flicker. If the amount of smoke lost seems excessive, the following product might be of interest :https://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-ch ... 433-a.html(Do […]SHyslop
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: RewireDex,It sounds as though your wiring has got into a bit of a muddle. However, unlike a modern car, the loom on your car is really very straight forward so there is no reason to panic. Clearly, you have a short circuit that is causing wires to over heat and smoke, so you must have […]TonyG
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: RewireOn testing wiring I am using a computer power supply and not the battery. It is short circuit protected and the wires will never smoke.luli

- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: RewireThe questions are straightforward, the answers less so. Do the trafficators flash? At one time the answer would have been, definitely not , but now you can buy bulbs which flash in the trafficator housing. The answer will lie in what you have specified, or not, in the wiring loom. If the wiring is close […]SHyslop
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Rewirecan anyone tell me if the trafficators are meant to flash also how many wires should you have going to the side/wing lights having a problem when I indicate the side lights go outdex1961
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: p2 steering boxIt is very important to keep the steering column undistorted, both lower and upper bearings concentric on the same line. Unless this condition is satisfied, the stirring will be hard. See here how to do it: https://lulis.org/2018/04/30/14128/This is often ignored, and is a main source of hard steering!luli
