- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Engine Mounting replacement 12 tourerI think we did it by lifting the engine on the sump ( suitably loadspread) certainly no wings or wheels were touched. The guide on the crossmember is a **d to adjust . The handle on my other tourer also doesn’t line up so I may have to change the mounting on that nextHappy Christmas […]David2021
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Engine Mounting replacement 12 tourerHi David, did you manage to change the mounting rubbers with the engine in situ?I have found that the moounting rubbers have completely disintegrated, getting the bolts out is easy enough as is removing the top rubber, the bottom one is a bit more of a challenge. The workshop manual suggests that in order to remove […]Willem

- Rovers Spotted • Rover 14 Streamline 1934 Bonhams Online 20/12/24https://carsonline.bonhams.com/en/listi ... 6414ed27b4The link above is for BLM79, on Bonhams online auctions starting tomorrow. I will be intrigued to see where the bids reach and how many bidders there are. £40000 - £50000 estimated. It will make an interesting comparison with how 15/6 Riley Kestrels have been doing recently. At first I expected it to […]SHyslop

- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Car shaking setting offI see, I had ruled those out but have had a look just to confirm. I've taken a couple of photos of a bellhousing and also the back of an engine and you'll see they give no access to the flywheel. I'm sorry the news on that front isn't better. In case you wonder what […]SHyslop
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Car shaking setting offJust to clarify, the bottom of the gearbox housing does have 2 holes in it, with a screwdriver you can push from the back towards the front aout 2 1/2 inches in so I assume to the front of the casing. Attached is a photo with a screwdriver in one of the holes, looking towards […]Willem
- Wilks' cars P1 and P2, thats cars up to 1947 • Re: Car shaking setting offUniversal joints, any brakes grabbing a bit, clutch cable sticking ? Unlikely I know but I think you're wanting to eliminate anything possible before biting the gearbox out bullet. I'll confess, I'm struggling with the two holes in the bottom casing bit. I'm not seeing them in the bellhousing nor in a clutch cover but […]SHyslop
